A limited edition, natural cask strength single malt whisky from the essential Islay distillery, Lagavulin, on Islay's rocky south coast. A special 12 year old releases from the original distiller's stocks. Vatted from refill American oak casks, each at least 12 years old. Available in limited quantities worldwide. An elegant classic; massive smoke and purity of flavor supported by complex aromas and delicious sweetness. Less rich and plummy than the 16 year old, this starts with a fresh moss nose that is well hidden in the standard bottle.

A wonderful on-going annual release of Lagavulin, from Diageo's Special Releases. This 14th release is of a very different style to last year’s. Aged in refill American oak, provides a creamy texture and a dry finish. Lagavulin 12 Year Old is an annual special release from the awarded distillery. Bottled at natural strength this single malt is fabulously appetising. Less of the citrus acidity of earlier expressions. Very enjoyable straight.
